What does this laser do?
The Cynergy laser treats both vascular and pigmented lesions, and also can be used for laser hair removal in Los Angeles. Examples of vascular and pigmented lesions include spider veins, port wine stains, birthmarks, rosacea and broken capillaries. In addition, the laser can improve the appearance of certain types of scars.
How does laser skin treatment in Los Angeles work?
The Cynergy device uses two light wavelengths, pulse-dye laser (PDL) and Nd:YAG, in combination to offer deep-skin penetration—the PDL targets the surface layers of skin, while the Nd:YAG permeates further into the lesion. Cynergy is the first laser device that can deploy both light wavelengths sequentially during a treatment. The light pulses are spaced within a fraction of a second of each other in a single hand-held device.

Cynergy is ideal for treatment of spider veins on the face and legs, and has been shown to improve the appearance of birthmarks that resist treatment with PDL energy alone. The treatments gently remove skin lesions to reveal smoother, unblemished skin. This laser is able to treat particularly dark or raised lesions that previously required surgical removal. The laser device offers three intensity levels that enable us to tailor your treatment and use only the amount of laser energy necessary for successful treatment.
Do Cynergy laser treatments hurt?
Most patients experience no discomfort as the laser energy is delivered through the hand piece, or feel a slight, brief pinching sensation. We offer topical anesthesia for patients who would like an added degree of comfort. Following treatment, discomfort is minimal or nonexistent, and you can carry on with your daily activities immediately.
How long do treatments take, and how many will I need?
Depending on the number, size and location of the lesions, treatments usually last only a few minutes. Typically three to five treatments are required for optimal results. Particularly large or dark spots, or sizeable treatment areas, may require additional treatments.
Are these treatments safe?

This device virtually eliminates purpura, or bruising caused by coagulation of small blood vessels under the skin, that was associated with older pulse-dye lasers.
