We often take them for granted, but think of some of the amazing things you do with your hands: greet new people, write for your job or to keep in touch with friends, and reach out and connect with loved ones. With so much use and exposure, your hands can often age faster than you do. Now there’s a fast and easy way to make long-term improvements to the appearance of your hands.

Want To Smooth the Skin on Your Hands?

Hands by Thermage is a minimal downtime procedure that helps smooth and tighten the skin on your hands in only one treatment, without the need for surgery or injections. After treatment, fine lines and wrinkles on your hands will be less visible, and the skin is tighter and more radiant.

How Does Hands by Thermage Work?

Thermage® treats all three layers of your skin: the outer layer (or epidermis), a collagen-rich layer underneath (the dermis), and the innermost layer that contains additional collagen fibers (the subcutaneous or fat layer). When the collagen in these layers breaks down due to age and exposure to the elements, your skin begins to dry out and wrinkle. Treatment halts and reverses the collagen breakdown process by safely heating the skin, causing immediate tightening and encouraging new collagen growth over time. The bulk of treatments out there only target surface skin, and as a result do nothing to restore collagen.

What Areas Respond Best To Treatment?

Obviously, Hands by Thermage targets wrinkled or crepy hands. But Thermage also can be used on your facial skin to perform a non-surgical facelift.

Is Hands by Thermage Safe?

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Thermage in 2003 for non-invasive treatment of wrinkles. In almost all cases, patients experience no serious complications or side effects. In some cases, you may see some redness or swelling of your skin for a day or two after the procedure. Rarely, blisters, bumps and other surface irregularities may occur following treatment.

What Are Hands by Thermage Treatments Like?

The treatment is performed in our office by trained and certified staff. In almost all cases, the procedure requires only one session that takes from 20 minutes to an hour. General anesthesia is not required, but you may request light pain medication prior to the procedure. Each time the Thermage device delivers radiofrequency energy to the underlayer of your skin, you will feel a mild heat sensation.

How Long Does a Hands by Thermage Treatment Last?

Most of our patients are pleased to see immediate improvements in the appearance of their hands. The treatment continues to maintain and stimulate collagen growth for up to six months. Your time between treatments will depend on such factors as your age and skin condition.

How Will I Look After My Treatment?

Most of our patients continue with their regular activities right after treatment. Almost immediately, your hands will appear smoother and tighter. Over the next few weeks, you should continue to see improved skin texture as more collagen is produced.
