What is UltraSoft?
UltraSoft is an implant material made from a synthetic material proven safe after more than 25 years of medical implant use. UltraSoft is almost 3 times softer than the lip augmentation materials still used by some surgeons; this added softness means softer, more natural feeling results.
What does UltraSoft treat?
UltraSoft is used to plump soft tissue of the face and is particularly well suited for use in the lip border and the nasolabial fold (smile lines). UltraSoft is often combined with other procedures for facial rejuvenation.
How is UltraSoft used?
Unlike collagen, UltraSoft lip enhancement is permanant. The UltraSoft implants are placed in the lips or nasolabial folds through small incisions at the corner of the mouth. Your own cells then begin to grow inside the implant to deliver soft, natural-looking lips with a youthful fullness.
The procedure can be completed under local anesthesia or with intravenous sedation. There is some swelling and minor discomfort for a few days and most people take tylenol or advil for 2 to 3 days. We recommend elevating the head and applying ice packs for the first 24-48 hours to minimize the swelling and bruising. Most people return to work in 3 to 4 days. Lip mobility is limited and thus speech slightly altered for 2 to 3 days. The procedure can be easily reversed if a person wants their UltraSoft implants removed or replaced with a larger implant.
